In the world of military service, the bonds forged are unbreakable, even across continents and years of separation. Such is the story of soldier Tom and his loyal canine companion, Taylor, a remarkable duo who served their country together in Afghanistan.
In Afghanistan, Tom and Taylor oversaw finding different sorts of explosives, like bombs, ammunition, rifles, and vehicles. Taylor and Tom were extremely good at their job, as the video said they were an “unstoppable duo.” When Tom’s tour was done, he was eager to get back home with Taylor, but that was unfortunately not what happened.
Even though Tom tried everything he could to keep Taylor by his side, the dog's talents were needed in Afghanistan, so Taylor continued working with a different handler for months after Tom had to go home. Tom had no choice but to move on with his life without Taylor, no matter how heartbreaking it was.
When Tom was moved to a military installation in Missouri, he met Emily, an army staff sergeant, at his new job. The two of them immediately hit it off and started dating. Soon after, they got married and moved to Boise, Idaho, together.
Taylor and Tom hadn’t seen each other for two years, and he was slowly starting to give up hope that he would see her again. Fortunately, Tom thought of the idea of getting Taylor back once the dog retired from its duties. Usually, a retired military dog is given back to the handler, but the costs of transporting Taylor were out of Emily and Tom’s budget.

Thankfully Molly Oliver, a former United Airlines flight attendant, formed a program that assisted veterans with restitution. Molly started to assist soldiers in reuniting with the canines that they trained.
When Molly heard of Tom and Taylor’s separation, she was very eager to help them reunite. When Molly arrived with Taylor in Boise, Taylor recognized Tom right away. It was as if no time had passed at all, and their connection was as strong as ever.
