She Thought Her Hen Was Normal, Until It Did THIS…

Friends make fun of me because I keep a notoriously empty refrigerator — I'm just not much of a chef — but I always keep a carton of eggs in there.

Eggs are perfect for any meal, or even as a high protein snack. And best of all? You can get a dozen for relatively cheap!

Many people keep hens in their backyard so they have quick, easy access to all-natural, organic eggs.

This is why British mother-of-three Kim Broughton keeps 15 egg-laying hens in her backyard. She recently decided to celebrate "National Pancake Day" with her family, and she thought they'd enjoy a full, hearty breakfast. She stepped out back to get some eggs to accompany the meal, and it wasn't until she was rinsing off the eggs in the sink that she noticed something extraordinary (or should I say "eggs-traordinary"?) had happened to one of the eggs.

Kim discovered that one of her hens, now affectionately nicknamed Ping-Pong, had laid a perfectly spherical egg. It was 100-percent round.

It's estimated that there was less than a one-in-a-billion chance of getting a perfectly spherical egg, but it happened to Kim!

Kim's family has no plan to eat the egg. They will instead sell the egg on eBay to raise money for a cystic fibrosis charity!

No one is entirely sure how this hen was able to lay a spherical egg. As Kim told the Mirror, "It’s absolutely amazing – I have never seen anything quite like it. It really is perfectly round. The eggs tend to get bigger as the hens get older but I’ve not
