YouTube prankster Tom Mabe recently partnered with My Dog Eats First, a nonprofit that feeds the pets of homeless people who put their dog first.
In the incredibly heartwarming video below, around the three-minute mark, we meet a homeless man named Ricky and his best friend, a dog named Buddy. Ricky and Buddy are inseparable. They live out of a truck, but Ricky makes sure to feed his beloved pup before himself, even if it means he goes hungry.
Ricky was diagnosed with a severe medical problem and was told he had six months to live. Ricky was heartbroken to think he'd have to surrender 12-year-old Buddy, especially since senior dogs have a tough time finding new forever homes. But Tom and a team of heroes quickly came together to surprise Ricky with his very own apartment so he can be with his dog during his remaining time.
It's amazing to watch Buddy realize he finally has a home and a warm bed — and to see Ricky so elated to know he can still spend his days with his four-legged pal by his side. God bless these heroes, and all the men and women who take wonderful care of their canine companions despite the adversity they face on a daily basis.
