It's no secret that older dogs tend to get the shaft when people go to adopt an animal from their local shelter. People tend to think they can only "save" puppies, who have yet to experience life and can often still be trained. However, no dog should be put aside. Many times, it's the elderly dogs who need our help the most, but yet they are least seen by human beings.
This heartwarming story about a dog named Toothless shows that it is never too late to help save a life. Even though a puppy my be in your life longer, after reading this touching tale, it's clear to me that an older dog can show more love and appreciation than any other animal. So many dogs live on the street for their entire lives. It takes an amazing person to take in a sick and homeless animal. That person could be you!

Our hero, Cory, had this to say about his best friend: "I never thought I could love a pet as much as I loved him; as much as we loved him. Everyone who met him instantly loved him. His vets, our friends, a theater full of patrons when he performed a walk-on role in a play. He truly was one of a kind. We hope that we gave him enough good memories to wipe out any bad ones that came before."
