A year-and-a-half ago, Hope the Goldendoodle was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Veterinarians weren't sure if the pup would survive and had to amputate one of her legs.
Miraculously, Hope made it through and healed. Now walking around on three legs, this amazing dog helps those with autism and visits patients at local hospitals in her hometown in Arizona.
Recently, this dedicated service dog met with an autistic boy named Lucius. During their first session, Lucius struggled to talk and could only speak a few words. Today, he can speak complete phrases.
"On the first visit with Hope they were able to get through the full 50-minute session without any meltdowns," said Tosha Giannoccaro, who founded Pawsitive Friendships — the organization that matched Lucius with Hope.
Despite only having three legs, this kindhearted dog is a true survivor and is now thriving and lending a helping paw around the community.
This story is a beautiful reminder that dogs have huge hearts, and live to help people! It seems like they never take a moment to think about themselves and are at their happiest when helping out others.
They truly understand what unconditional love means. Hope's owners should be proud to have such brave and helpful pet!
