Bentley the bulldog was born with Spina Bifida, a spinal chord and neurological disorder that can be fatal. He was found on Christmas day in a box outside the East Vally animal shelter. For two years, shelter volunteers looked after him while family after family overlooked him because of his disability.
When Wendy Rodriguez went online to adopt a pet, she never imagined she find a pet like Bentley – the two of them share the exact same disease.
Immediately, Wendy and her family adopted him.
"Nobody understands Bentley like I do," Wendy says. "And I do know he understands me. I didn't expect Bentley to take care of me the way he does. He needs my love, and I can give him that love he so desperately needs."
This is such an amazing adoption story, and it proves there's a dog out there for everyone!
