It was a chilly spring afternoon when a woman decided to take a few steps outside her home. Then she was greeted by an unexpected and heartbreaking sight.
There was a tiny green hummingbird lying down on the ground, not moving a muscle. When the woman spotted the motionless bird, she refused to leave him out there to die in the cold and knew she had to do something about the situation.
She picked the little guy up and brought him inside for the first steps of his journey back to health.
In the video below, posted on March 11, 2017, the woman takes care of the hummingbird's needs with the help of a friend.
She brings out a silver spoon filled to the brim with a bright purple liquid. She slowly inches the spoon toward the sweet bird, and soon enough, he sticks his beak in. He starts sipping on the purple liquid, then stops, feeling a little hesitant.
Later on, he looks at the spoon again and goes back for a second round of purple liquid to revitalize his health. Then everything changes for the miraculous little bird.
The hummingbird musters up the strength to fly and makes his way to a window only 20 minutes later.
Someone captures the healthy and determined bird with his hands and walks over to an open window. Finally, the rescued hummingbird flies back outside, ready to continue his life, all thanks to the woman who decided to save him — and feed him that mysterious purple beverage.
