When you think of summer, what comes to mind? I think of childhood days spent playing outside at grandma's house, in the cul de sac. My brothers and I would go over to the neighbor's house, swim in their above-ground pool, and swing on their swing set. My grandpa wasn't too keen on the neighbor kids coming into his yard, so we always ended up playing in the communal driveway.
Then, we'd all hear that familiar sound: that tinkling jingle of the ice cream truck slowly making the neighborhood rounds.
Everyone recognizes this sound. It's unmistakable, and such a haven in the middle of a sweltering hot summer day. There's nothing quite like that faint song slowly getting louder and louder as you run inside and beg mom or dad for a few dollars for an ice cold treat.
But it's not just children that love to hear the ice cream truck turning the corner. People of any age love their local ice cream man, sure, but there is one canine customer who might like it more than any human.
