Family Gets ‘Joke’ Phone Call, Discovers Dog Lost For 3 Years Is Returning Home

It's comforting to know that more and more pet owners are microchipping their cats and dogs in the event that they get lost or are stolen.

But this isn't enough. People often forget that the information associated with the microchip, including one's phone number and home address, needs to be updated if there are any changes to it.

One family is thankful that all their information was up to date, especially after that led their lost Jack Russell terrier to be returned to them. He was found many miles away from home — three years after he was lost.

The Moores let Broozer out to use the bathroom, but when they returned to retrieve him, he was gone. They hung flyers throughout the neighborhood, and searched for him high and low, but the little pup was nowhere to be found.

Three years later, a storm passed through the China Springs area in Texas, and a woman came out onto her doorstep to find a dog there.

This was Broozer, who had, over the course of those years, traveled 90 miles way from home. He was taken to a shelter, where workers were able to track down his family.

When the Moores received the call about the lost dog, they believed it to be a joke at first. But their heartwarming reunion — thanks to updated microchip information — proves that a dog never forgets the humans who love him!
