When They Try To Approach This Escaped Lion… No One Expected THIS!

Several 911 dispatchers were left speechless when they started receiving frantic calls from citizens saying there was a baby lion roaming the streets of Norfolk, VA. But when police investigated the situation, they were in for quite a surprise: Residents had mistaken Charles the three-year-old Labradoodle for a lion cub.

Daniel Painter had recently groomed his dog in honor of the Old Dominion University mascot Big Blue the lion, which is why people were fooled by the pooch. Before police had discovered the case of mistaken identity, there was panic in the community because the nearby Norfolk Zoo houses two lions.

In the released 911 calls, the first caller was fairly calm.

"I'd like to report a lion sighting," he said.

"Say that again?" a dispatcher responded.

According to his owner, the dog is often mistaken for a lion, so Painter has taken to calling Charles a Lab-alion.
