We've seen some pretty unbelievable animal stories here at LittleThings, but it doesn't get much more amazing than this.
When you think about homeless, hungry dogs, you probably don't immediately think about them being friendly or eager to help others, but every once in a while you'll hear about a stray who puts others first.
The following story is out of San Carlos, Brazil, a poor city where a dog living in a junkyard has become the community's biggest hero. Lilica is a mutt who was abandoned at a junkyard and quickly took a liking to the owner and his children who live there. They must have seen something kind behind the dog's sad eyes, because what Lilica started to do every night completely shocked them. After giving birth to a litter of eight pups, Lilica began searching the town at night for food to feed her babies.
She would walk 4 miles, hoping to return home with food for her family, but when she got there, she would even share with the other animals living in the junkyard. Lilica quickly gained fans in the community and they decided to do something to help this kindhearted pup.
