They Set Up A Trap And Start Filming. What A Police Officer Does Next? Unbelievable…

For the past 22 years, Lori Briggs has been part of the Detroit Police Department. When she's off-duty, however, she puts on a much different uniform…

Lori has dedicated her life outside of the police force to rescuing dogs off the streets. It's her true passion that's led her to saving the lives of hundreds of abandoned, homeless dogs across the city.

When she takes off her uniform, Lori continues to help others — just not in the way you may think. She puts on her civilian clothes and takes off in search of dogs she spots throughout her workdays. Luring dogs in with Church's Chicken donated from local rescue groups, Lori often partners with Dog Aide and the Detroit Animal Welfare Group.

We've seen the amazing bond that can form between officers and dogs, and Lori's story is no exception.

Recently, Lori needed a new truck to carry her large cage, so she set up a GoFundMe page to accept donations. Thanks to the generosity of strangers all over the country, she quickly exceeded her goal. Now, she can continue on her rescue mission!

All due praise to Briggs, who not only protects lives on the clock, but saves canine lives in her free time! What an incredible story!
