Rosie the Bulldog was rescued by the Illinois English Bulldog Rescue after she'd spent the beginning of her life at a terrible puppy mill breeder. Rosie has a heart condition called a VSD (Ventral Septal Defect), which means there is a hole between her left and right heart ventricles. The good news is Rosie was eventually adopted by loving parents and now lives with her best friend Daisy, another bulldog (also with a heart condition) from the same rescue organization!
While it may not look like Rosie is enjoying it (but come on, you know Bulldogs always have that "I'd rather be anywhere else" expression) Rosie is completely at home with her new family. They love her so much that they throw Rosie her very own birthday parties, complete with doggie cake, party favors and a "Happy Birthday" song dedicated to Rosie! I love her so much, and I'm so grateful she's been given her second chance.
