Everyone likes a nice surprise. Something like a significant other planning a date you didn't know about, the Starbucks barista giving you a free shot of espresso, or finding a $5 bill in a pair of pants you definitely should have washed weeks ago.
English filmmaker Paris Zarcilla's recent surprise was a little different. It was much more permanent, much more fluffy, and about a thousand times more adorable than any Valentine's Day plans any of us will ever experience.
We could break down the new additions to Paris' life, but there really is no better summation of the situation than the first tweet in his now-viral thread.

Never has all-caps been more necessary. Can you imagine casually checking under your bed for a sweater and finding a new family hanging out in your underwear drawer?

Because Paris is a normal human being, he immediately started crushing over the cats that came out of absolutely nowhere. And thankfully for the rest of us, he's been tweeting nonstop ever since finding them.

A completely appropriate reaction, in our opinion. Just look at those little newborn faces!

To be honest, this is how all new dads should react, whether they were planning on the baby or not. Or whether their children are even human!

The stream of consciousness makes all this even cuter. We are on this journey with Paris — as made obvious by the huge number of retweets and favorites his new family is getting.

It was at this point that the hashtag #CatDad started popping up, with some pretty heavy Batman references sprinkled in. Again, we ship it.

Side note: This is a very appropriate and serious question.

Eventually, Paris had to get some sleep, but when you have a bunch of tiny miracles living under you, the first thing you do in the morning is film another clip!

Because by this time you're thinking about it — along with half of Twitter — Paris did reach out to local shelters and vets to figure out what he's supposed to do next. The relatively high chance that this is actually someone else's cat has now dawned on him.

Don't even try to act like your heart isn't aching right now. What a roller coaster.

This is seriously a love story worthy of Shakespeare. He's already preparing to have his joy ripped away from him. It's too early in the day to deal with this.

WHO'S CHOPPING ONIONS IN HERE?

As of now, the family is still with Paris, and he has no idea what's going to become of his adopted kids. But here's to hoping that #CatDad (and #CatFam?) all get a happy ending.
