Military homecomings are great to watch because they showcase a fundamentally human experience that is shared by everyone: love. When we miss someone, we count the minutes until they are with us once again. So no matter the length of deployment or how far away the person is, when they finally return, it's always a heartwarming and emotional moment.
But just because the feeling of missing someone and wanting to see them again is an experience shared by humans, doesn't mean it can't be shared by our dogs, too!
In the video below, a soldier was finally returning home from a seven-month deployment.
But unlike many military reunion videos, instead of parents, children, or a significant other waiting for him, the man had some other loved ones there to greet him!
His two dogs shot forward to see him as soon as they noticed his arrival!
But their ecstatic reaction was made even better when, noticing that the soldier had to open the gate to come inside, both dogs backed up to give him his space to enter.
Dogs are so smart!
And once the solder was on the other side of the fence, the reunion could begin, with hugs and cuddles aplenty!
