An adorable mini donkey was rescued from a farm in Pennsylvania in the nick of time, thanks to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The rescuers pulled Sadie, another donkey named Romeo, two beagles, a cow, and some chickens and roosters from the poor conditions. The animals had been abandoned and were starving.
But little did the welfare workers know that they were also saving a baby on the way: as it turned out, Sadie was pregnant! They had no idea when she was due until she gave birth to an even smaller miniature donkey just days later. Born covered in white fur, he looks nothing like his mother!
The donkey apparently has some health complications due to the abuse his mother sustained at the farm. Rescuers are working to raise money to fund his treatments by allowing the public to vote on his name.
According to the Associated Press, the options are Lil' Sebastian, Georgie, Van, J.R., and Lucky. For just a donation of $5, you can help give this little guy a name and contribute to his recovery! If you're lucky, you will even be able to meet Saide and her foal.
How adorable is this little guy? Hopefully, he will pull through and get the help he needs in no time!
