Gordon, a Neapolitan Mastiff, was already ill and diagnosed with mange when he was purchased as a puppy, but his owners had never followed up with treatment. The neglected pup was a year old when Valley Mastiff Rescue finally stepped in to save the dog.

His owners had never followed up with treatment, so his mange got out of control.

When Valley Mastiff Rescue arrived to pick up the dog, rescuers noticed Gordon was dehydrated. His water bowl was chihuahua size, and he was also eating a low-grade dog kibble. Gordon would later empty a 7-litre water bowl his first night with Valley Mastiff Rescue!

Gordon had other ailments. He was bleeding on his face when he arrived at the hospital. He was diagnosed with demodex mange and severe neglect. He also had a severe yeast infection in both his ears!

Gordon started getting many antiseptic baths, antibiotics, painkillers and a special fish diet with vitamin A and vitamin E supplements.

Now, 51 days after arriving at Valley Mastiff Rescue, Gordon is on the road to recovery, being treated daily for his ailments and mange.
