The Newfoundland is a sweet, intelligent breed of dog. The clever dog below used his smarts to make a tasty trade with his owner.
The chocolate Newfoundland saw his owners, a mother and daughter, gathered at their kitchen table for dinner one night. When he caught sight of what was on the menu, he wanted a piece, or at least a spoonful.
Determined to get his paws on some quality cooking, the large dog carried his favorite bone across the living room and into the kitchen. When he reached his family, he plopped the bone down on top of the garbage can as an offering.
That's when Mom started filming.
In the video below, she laughs and asks the dog, "You want to trade?"
Then she turns to her daughter and tells her, "He said he'll trade you that bone for your dinner."
The mom turns back to her dog, who is quietly waiting for the daughter to accept.
"I don't eat bones!" the daughter yells across the table to her patient dog. The Newfoundland wasn't expecting rejection. In fact, he doesn't even realize he's been turned down until Mom turns back to him and hits him with the bad news.
"I'm sorry, she rejects the transaction," she says.

Despite saying no only a moment ago, the daughter feels bad for him and offers him something else, but Mom isn't having that.
