Patches The Crossing Guard Dog Makes Sure Children Stay Safe

While many schoolchildren around the country are incredibly sad at the prospect of summer coming to an end, there's a small town in Pennsylvania where the kids actually have something they're all looking forward to. He's fluffy, sweet, and about the calmest friend you could ever hope to see on your route to your first day back at school.

This adorable little Maltipoo, named Patches, is a cross between a poodle and a Maltese. These dogs are very well known for their fun-loving, affectionate, and all together happy nature. They're known for being quite active little dogs all while being able to charm just about anyone they meet with their funny personalities.

Patches really shows off what an amazing dog he is in the short video below. It turns out that this adorable dog has a job that he happens to be very good at! He and his human friend Brad Curtis take their jobs very seriously; making sure that the children of their community cross the road safely.

Curtis has been serving as the crossing guard for two years now, so when he realized his dog was getting lonely at home without anyone to play with, he figured it would be a great idea to bring him along. Patches is incredibly well behaved and doesn't move into the street until Curtis does first, their teamwork is really something to be impressed by.

At the request of the children, Patches even started to wear his very own, specially designed, doggy crossing guard uniform! With a tiny "STOP" sign on his back, this has to be one of the cutest dogs with one of the cutest jobs imaginable!
