A few years back, I made the mistake of buying our family dog some store-bought, puppy-friendly ice cream treats. The box said it was delicious, nutritious, and totally safe — and it seemed like a great summertime treat — so I was excited for him to try it out.
But unfortunately, the treats made him, well, sick as a dog. And looking back, I have to wonder if it's because those treats weren't quite as puppy-friendly as they claimed to be.
So when I saw this do-it-yourself homemade dog treat, I was so excited. Thanks to this incredible recipe, my dog can finally enjoy a nice summer snack whose ingredients I won't have to question; because everything comes right from my pantry, there's no mystery about what's within.
All you'll need for this yummy and healthy snack is some peanut butter, strawberries, a blender, and a bundt pan. It only takes a few minutes, and it's something your pup is sure to enjoy.
And because this recipe makes so much, you can easily chop the treat up, pop the pieces in a container, and toss them in the freezer for another day. They'll make a great surprise when your dog's been especially good.
Now, don't try to substitute other fruits for the strawberries. While strawberries are perfectly dog-friendly, other fruits may do them harm.
Will you be trying this out? I know I will! I can't wait to see my dog's face when I drop this in his bowl.
Please SHARE if your dog deserves safe, homemade dog treats!
