Here's a story that just might make you believe in miracles!
To me, just rescuing a homeless dog is the most wonderful gift you can give an animal in need, so someone who chooses to take in a dog who is sick, disabled or has special needs really is an angel walking amongst us. We've seen time and time again how cruel puppy mill and backyard breeding organizations result in inbred, sickly pups, like these three sickly pups who suffer from blindness and physical deformities. You can only imagine how difficult it must be to find good people to adopt these tiny, helpless animals.
That's why we're calling pet parent Dave Meinert a true hero. When Meinert learned of a small, 4-week-old pup who survived a rescue from an illegal backyard breeder, he knew what he was getting into. The small, white Great Dane, who he named Pegasus, was the lone survivor of her litter. Meinert was warned that the tiny, weak pup would not live very long and if she did, she would be blind and sick with terrible health problems.
Luckily for Pegasus, Meinert decided to take his chances, knowing that the dog had a better chance with him than she would otherwise…and luckily for us, Meinert decided to make a time-lapse video to document Pegasus' project.
The result is guaranteed to touch your heart.
