Pet Photo Booth Helps Shelter Dogs Find Forever Homes

The Humane Society of Utah has found a very clever way to get their dogs adopted. With hundreds of other dogs barking and competing to be adopted in a shelter, the organization is letting each dog shine and show off their unique personalities through a series of photo sessions.

Staff photographer, Guinnever Shuster, captures the adoptable dogs in all their glory and reveal what makes that dog special. Now with the help of social media, she's able to upload these doggie's glamour shots for the whole world to see. It has helped connect pets to families hundreds of miles away at times. In fact, the pet photo booth idea has worked so well, that the Utah Dog Shelter has potential dog owners lined up to adopt.

According to the ASPCA, approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs, 1.2 million of which are euthanized. These staggering facts prove that it’s extremely important to adopt rescue animals.

In the video below, users can get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into the process and see the dogs adorably posing for photos. There's a whole lot of sass and personality for this bunch!

"This gives everyone a chance to form a connection with these animals before they ever step foot inside the dog shelter," the Humane Society of Utah wrote on their YouTube page.
