Pet selfies are always fun to snap. For a woman named Ashley Glawe, a casual photo shoot with her pet python named Bart started out great, but took an unexpected turn that ended with a trip to the ER.
Ashley placed her trusty snake on her shoulders and neck so he could pose with her. Before she knew it, he had slithered through a large hole in her ear, caused by piercings called gauges.
She tried to pull her pet out of the hole, but she soon realized she had a pretty big problem on her hands.
According to Fox News, "Glawe said the ball python snake, named Bart, was too big to fit all the way through her lobe, and she was unable to extract it on her own."
That's when she asked the Portland, Oregon, authorities for help. The fire department arrived, but it was no use. Ashley left for the emergency room to remove her pet snake from her ear. While she was there, doctors stretched the large hole even more to draw the ball python out.
We figure Ashley won't be taking anymore python selfies for a while, but it's good to know she and Bart are safe and sound.
