People tend to tease new mothers about being overprotective and taking too many precautions with their newborn, but the truth is, while it's easy to go overboard, you really can't ever be too careful. And the same thing goes for our other babies: our pets.
Since our pets can't communicate their feelings to us as owners, they rely on us to intuit when they're in trouble. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for it to be too late for a pet by the time they get to a veterinarian. That's why it's so important for us to pay close attention to our pets' health and behavior. While insect bites and stings may seem like minor annoyances, they can have major repercussions — and the same goes for changes in behavior like staggering or appearing more lazy than usual.
