A pit bull enters a turkey coop… (No, this isn’t the start of a funny joke) and what happens is the most extraordinary thing!
The lovable black-and-white pit bull absolutely adores baby chicks and baby turkeys, especially when a new one is just born. While big and strong, the pit bull is so gentle and captivated by the presence of a new 3-day-old baby turkey.
In an adorable video, the pit bull enters the chicken coop, and surprisingly, the chicks don’t scatter and run away. Instead, they welcome the pit as if she’s an old pal. The chicks then start hopping on top of its back as she shows her concerned, maternal side to the newcomer baby turkey. The baby turkey is having a really tough time assimilating to his new home.
It’s not easy being a newbie, and this intuitive pit bull realizes that as the tiny baby turkey cowers in the corner. The pit bull then licks it and tries to nudge him along to join the rest of the group. It’s like she’s saying, “Hey little birdie, come join the party. There’s nothing to be afraid of!”
While co-existing with baby chickens and turkeys is the norm for this precious pit bull (as her owner raises them), the bond between the pit bull and the chicks is priceless, as we’ve seen with pit bulls and human babies, as well as adults (helping them do yard work!).
If you look closely, when the camera lens pans out to the yard, you can catch a glimpse of a huge turkey taking a stroll out in the yard! Life is good at the ranch, huh?
Please SHARE this precious pit-and-chick bond with fans of farm animals and pit bulls, of course!
