Pit Bull Who Had All His Teeth Pulled Out By Owner Gets Second Chance At Life In New Home

Animal abuse is one of the saddest and most difficult realities to understand. Luckily, there are a lot of people willing to fight for animals who have been harmed by people.

One adorable pit bill who has no teeth has just been given a second chance, after suffering through a horrible ordeal.

The pittie, fittingly named Toothless, was taken in by Georgia's Royal Animal Refuge, which shared his story.

Toothless came to the rescue at 9 months old. He had no teeth, which the rescue said were pulled out by his last owner. Staff believed it was possibly so he could be used as bait for dog fighting.

In a lengthy Facebook post, the team caring for him wrote, "We have sad but hopeful hearts today. We recently took in this sweet baby, his name is Toothless. Animal control let us know that this 9 month old boy had all of his teeth pulled out by someone."

The post continued, "We could not say no to taking him in and he quickly stole all of our hearts. On top of his heartbreaking past, he was diagnosed with parvo. He was immediately rushed to a vet and is now receiving medical care."

The post also asked for donations to help pay for Toothless' medical care.

People were taken with the poor pup's story. Donations began to pour in. On February 25, the rescue posted about Toothless again. "We are speechless and overwhelmed by the amount of support we have gotten for our sweet boy, Toothless," they wrote. "We cannot thank you enough for the donations, kind words, and for rallying behind us to save him. Thanks to his supporters, he is doing amazing and is scheduled to be discharged soon."

Finally, on February 28 came the update everyone following the dog's story had been hoping for. "TOOTHLESS IS HOME," the rescue wrote.

"This sweet boy was released and is living his best life with his amazing foster family! He is doing great and we are so thankful that his fosters stepped up to care for him."

While it's incredibly sad to think about what this poor pup has been through, thankfully he'll have another chance at a great life filled with lots of love and (soft) treats.
