Kelly Frankenburg is a photographer who specializes in newborn and baby shoots, but in her spare time, she is also a foster dog mom.
She and her family have fostered several animals from Richard Animal Care and Control, but her most recent foster pups were some of her youngest yet at just 2 weeks old.
As a baby photographer by trade, Kelly decided that the best way to get these pups adopted was with a "baby" photo shoot. After all, who doesn't love a bunch of tiny Chihuahua puppies wrapped up in baby blankets?
“I thought if people could see past them being homeless shelter dogs, if they could see how adorable they are, that they would be more likely to get adopted,” Kelly told People.
The three puppies — Tito, Messi, and Love Bug — were easy to photograph, especially since they were sleeping through most of the photos. As for the puppies' mom, Mama Paris, she initially struggled to part with her babies, but eventually "left the room and I found her asleep on the couch".
Though each puppy has his own personality, Kelly loves them all equally and is hopeful that all three will find a loving home once they're old enough.
"My goal is to get these dogs adopted," said Kelly. "Shelter dogs are just as good as breeder dogs, and I want to raise awareness for all these wonderful shelter animals who need good homes."
