Rescue Dog Proves That Every Pup Deserves A Chance At Life

If not for the incredible vets like Dr. Matt and his team at Vet Ranch, countless animals whose care was too expensive would have been euthanized. Instead, they were provided with needed treatment free of charge, and given a second change at a happy life with a loving forever home. Emma's is one such story.

Emma, a homeless puppy, had been hit by a car and had severe damage both visible and internal. "She had a diaphragmatic hernia, where a hole in the muscle that normally separates the lungs from the abdominal contents allowed her intestines to be pushed up into her chest, severely restricting her breathing," writes Vet Ranch. She also had a number of broken bones in her back and front legs. "Afterwards the hospital quoted the foster family $2000 to amputate her rear leg and fix her front leg." They add that the family wasn't able to cover the cost of her expenses, so Dr. Matt and his team stepped in to cover her care.

When Dr. Matt shared a video of Emma two months after her surgery, she looks just as healthy as any other dog playing fetch in a backyard. In fact, so incredible was her recovery that you wouldn't know little Emma has just three legs — and she's still able to keep up with any other adorable pup. See for yourself below.
