Rescue Dogs Are Reunited After Their Owners Run Into Each Other During A Walk In NYC

A chance of mere fate recently reunited three rescue dogs in New York City. In a post shared to the @dogsofnyc Instagram page, one dog owner detailed the heart-warming experience.

"Gather round for an unbelievable tale of dogs, DNA, and chance encounters," the post, by a woman named Mattie Kahn, read. "A few hours ago, Jason went to pick up our dog Marvin from the groomer. On the way home, Marvin starts sniffing a dog on the corner. Jason and the owner of that dog stop to chat," the post continued.

"She asks Jason what kind of dog Marv was, and Jason tell her he's a rescue from Texas. Mine too, the woman replies. Where from? Jason gives the name." The post goes on the say that the surprised woman makes it known that her dog was also from that exact rescue shelter. She proceeds to ask what Marvin's name was before he was adopted.

"Jason tells her. 'Oh my god,' she responds. 'This is his SON.' She had applied for our dog but didn't get him. Instead she got his CHILD and convinced her friend to adopt MARVIN'S OTHER SON, who now lives with her friend 20 blocks south," the post continued.

The post shares that the owners had no idea Marvin had children. "Their names are Murray and Leo, both of which are perfect. Is this not the most Upper West Side narrative you've ever heard? Marvin is basically a Nora Ephron character," the post read. All the owners are now planning a family reunion for the dogs.
