Rescuers Find Elderly Dog Chained Up Outside, Then Discover He’s Been There For 15 Years

While most of us love our pets and want to keep them safe from harm, not every owner shares the same mind-set. Unfortunately, many animals are mistreated and abandoned by careless people who leave them chained in extreme weather or starved.

That was the case of Bear, an elderly dog chained to his doghouse for up to 15 years before rescuers from Guardians of Rescue got to him. The poor dog had been left in the cold and heat throughout the year.

The gentle animal greeted his rescuers with his tail wagging, and when his chain was finally cut, he didn't hesitate to explore his environment, undoubtedly scared but overjoyed that he can now roam free.

Now Bear is resting comfortably and learning what it means to be loved and cared for properly while he waits to find his forever home. Rescuers hope his new family will give him the best possible life until the end of his days.
