People Are Lining Up To Foster Homeless Shelter Dogs Being Displaced By Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence began hitting the East Coast early in the morning on September 14. Before the storm made landfall, people across North Carolina and South Carolina evacuated from their homes.

When people evacuate, they usually make sure to take their pets with them. Any pet owner knows that they're truly members of the family, and they can't be left behind. Unfortunately, most people don't think about the other animals in their community, specifically shelter animals.

Luckily, there are always Good Samaritans in the community who make sure every animal is taken care of. In North Carolina, the entire community stepped up. Saving Grace, a nonprofit shelter, put out a call to all animal lovers in the area, asking them to foster animals during the storm.

And people responded in an incredible way — individuals and families lined up for hours waiting to take animals home from the shelter. Who knows? Maybe these animals will even find their forever families during this storm!

Ali and her dogs got cozy on the couch, where she attempted to get some work done. Once she posted the photos on Twitter, she was overwhelmed by the positive responses.

Although some people were calling her a hero, Ali made sure to give all the credit to the amazing people at Saving Grace.

Ali went on to share Floyd's tips to surviving the hurricane. It seems like all the pups have the same idea: sleep until the storm passes.

Saving Grace shared numerous updates on its shelter animals — and judging by the empty cages, it looks like the shelter was successful at finding temporary homes for all the fur babies!

All of the dogs look completely content with their temporary families, and they have no idea the danger they could have been in.
