A dog's second chance is credited to one hero's keen eye and quick reactions. After being hit by a car, this beautiful German Shepard was left alone to die on the side of a busy highway, but thankfully a soldier, who just happened to be driving by, spotted the wounded animal and pulled over.
"It was amazing that she stopped because she shouldn't have seen him," said one of the dog's relieved veterinarians.
Once they took him in they realized he had a lot of healing to do. With multiple broken bones, the most important thing was to keep him still during the surgeries. The hard work eventually paid off and the dog is on the right path, but throughout the whole ordeal he remained ever hopeful, so they decided to name him Trooper, for his indomitable spirit!
Trooper's big brown eyes seem to still be searching for someone else. This sweet dog could easily be someone's family pet, but luckily the Bella Foundation SPCA will take good care of him until a loving family adopts him!
While it is certainly a shame that Trooper got so badly injured from being hit by a car, it's all thanks to the amazing soldier and the good people at the Bella Foundation that this beautiful dog will get the second chance at life that he deserves. We're sure he'll live a healthy and happy life thanks to a little help from his newfound friends!
