While out on a routine exercise off the coast of England, volunteers from The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RLNI) spotted a dog stranded on a ledge at the base of some of the country's highest sea cliffs. There was no way the dog could move to higher ground due to the sheer steepness of the cliffs. Without missing a beat, volunteers sprung into action and headed straight for the pup.
It took a little maneuvering but rescuers were finally able to climb onto the cliff and bring the dog safely back to the boat.
It turns out the dog that was rescued is a 9-year-old Springer Spaniel named Sprig who he has been missing for nine days! Members of the RLNI and his owners have no idea how Sprig even got to those cliffs. The entire harrowing rescue was caught on film by one of the volunteer's helmet cams and thankfully sweet Sprig has since been reunited with his owners.
