This is such an incredible transformation.
When Simon was first brought in to KC Pet Project in Kansas City, Missouri, the team there didn't even know what type of stray animal they were looking at.
Underneath one of the worst cases of matted fur the staff had ever seen was an adorable 11-year-old shih tzu.
Simon was trapped underneath 7 pounds of matted fur. He was underweight, covered in fleas, and had serious dental problems. (Not to mention, he could barely walk.)
It's unclear how long Simon was in this horrible condition, but one thing was for sure: He needed so much love and care — and quickly.
Once the grooming team gave Simon the shave of his life, they were relieved to see his skin was in much better shape than they expected — and they were even more relieved to see Simon so happy to be free of the heavy burden.
