Jim Passmore, a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was on a walk along a creek with his dogs when he encountered a strange sight. He saw a large animal that seemed to be trapped in the creek.
At first glance, he thought it was a beaver. But when he took a closer look, he saw that it was an old dog. His name would become Teddy.
Passmore called the authorities so they could help rescue him from the water.
A bit overweight, officers said that the poor 8-year-old dog may have been hit by a car and fallen into the creek, where his age and weight caused him to be trapped.
Thankfully, they were able to rescue him in time, and he is now recovering at the Alta Vista Animal Shelter.
Shockingly, this was actually his second rescue!
He had been set to be euthanized at the Broken Arrow Shelter, but thankfully, the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals took Teddy into custody in the hopes of buying more time to either find his owner or get him adopted by the loving family he deserves.
And though Teddy is unhappy, and rightfully so, the group hopes that the poor old pup will get a second chance at a long, full life.
