This story absolutely disgusts me, but thank God it has a happy ending. Liberty was abandoned by her owner and left on the side of the road in California — with "I need a home" and "free" scribbled on her fur in permanent marker. When a Good Samaritan named Shannon saw Liberty alone outside, she decided to take her home.
Here's where things really turn around: Shannon was only planning on keeping Liberty until she could figure out who abandoned her… but after spending just one night with the amazing pup, she knew this was her soul mate. Shannon is adopting Liberty into her forever family! "It was actually kind of a blessing in disguise, even though it was very sad to start with." she says. "Somebody just kind of treated her like trash but she ended up being my treasure."
