When Caleb was diagnosed terminal cancer last year, he knew exactly what he wanted to do before his life ended. After seeing surfing dogs on ESPN, Caleb had the MAKE A WISH Foundation to find Ricochet, the only surfing dog in the world who works with people with disabilities and illnesses. Without Ricochet, Caleb would not have been able to surf on his own. Seeing the huge smile on Caleb’s face while paddling through the waves is the most amazing thing I’ve seen in such a long time. When a reporter asked Caleb how he stays so strong, he replied “Just with God’s help, everything is possible. So I know he has a plan for me.”<h/3>
Caleb’s mother says the family is not interested in learning of her son’s life expectancy. Caleb believes in living each day to the fullest – something each and every one of us should consider.
