Air Force Technical Sergeant David Simpson served with Robbie the German shepherd for four years in Iraq before Simpson retired last year due to medical reasons. Leaving each other was absolutely heartbreaking and Simpson even said it was second to only having a pet pass away. As soon as Simpson heard Robbie was done serving, he paid $2,000 to hop on the next plane to Germany to adopt Robbie and bring him home to live with him in Florida.
