Luis Carlos Montalvan is a veteran who received a Purple Heart for the bravery he showed in Iraq. But during his tour there, he was ambushed and sustained a traumatic brain injury. The injury, along with the scars of war, began to take their toll, and he started to suffer the symptoms of PTSD.
Once he moved back to the US, things went from bad to worse for Luis, and he began to wonder if he would ever recover.
That's when he met Tuesday, a golden retriever, at a service dog training facility. Since day one, the bond between Luis and his dog has been life-changing, and Luis credits Tuesday for literally saving his life.
This is just another reason why service dogs are such an important resource!
