He was gone overseas on a deployment for 6 months, and today, he's finally back home. The utter joy and excitement expressed by his baby girl is beyond words and nearly brought me to tears.
So many soldiers head overseas so they can defend our freedoms, but behind all the heroism and valor, there are countless other lives who have to remain behind. When a soldier reunites with a loved one after many months of being away from home, it's usually a wife, husband, son, or daughter that we expect to see, like the soldier who surprised his girlfriend by unexpectedly showing up to tell her he loved her.
We've all grown to love these videos, but it's easy to forget that there are furry friends who are heartbroken when a soldier is forced to go away. But, with that heartache and absence, there's utter joy when that hero returns.
