Tiny Baby Quails Hatch From Their Eggs, Then Huge German Shepherd Steps In As Babysitter

When these dwarf quail babies were born, they required a trusty caretaker. After seeing the chicks hatch from their eggs, it was clear that there was only one dog for the job — and his name was Thorin.

The German shepherd's owner had kept a handful of quail eggs to raise. Once the tiny babies popped out of their spotted brown shells and began their adventure, they were all about the size of Thorin's owner's thumb.

Thorin's owner set the baby quails free on a fuzzy beige carpet where he was lounging. The German shepherd looked down to see his newborn friends hopping around, full of excitement and wonder.

The dog rounded them up a little with his nose, nudging them from place to place. The rowdy baby quails were just as curious as their much larger pal.

Next, Thorin's owner filmed them all on a white sheet on the ground.

In the video below, posted on February 14, 2017, you can hear simultaneous chirping coming from the baby quails as they all try to shove themselves underneath the warmth of Thorin's forearm.

All the little guys wanted to do was explore their new scenery with their caring canine babysitter by their side. Thorin kept looking at the tiny birds, both in awe and admiration.

This instance of interspecies bonding is truly adorable.
