Tiny The Service Dog Spent Her Whole Life With A Disability. Now? She’s Getting Her Miracle…

Service dogs are an invaluable part of our communities, offering search and rescue efforts, rehabilitation therapy, and even companionship to people with long-term disabilities or special needs. It’s rare that we’re presented with an opportunity to give back for their many efforts, but one school is attempting to.

3-D printing has yielded unimaginable advancement in the way of scientific capabilities. We’ve been able to give the gift of mobility to countless individuals and children with disabilities. A computer science class at Xavier University have utilized this technology to craft a prosthetic leg for a service dog named Tiny who was born with a deformity in his front right leg.

Local 12 News reports that Laurie Maier with 4 Paws for Ability says, “It will take time for her to get used to it using that forward motion of her shoulder but she's sitting with it very naturally. She's putting weight on it so hopefully it will be a great help to her.”

Local 12 News says Tiny is responding well to the prosthetic. Therapists are confident that she’ll take to the leg with some practice, and we wish Tiny a speedy recovery!
