Woman Tramples Snail And Finds Shell In Pieces On The Ground — But The Animal Is Still Alive

While many animal rescues tend to focus on larger animals, other creatures a little closer to the ground may need some assistance every now and then.

This was the case with a snail that had been stepped on by an unsuspecting woman in her garden. The snail was rushed to the HaClinica animal hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel, where vets set to worktrying to repair its shell, which was left in pieces.

Of course, the task wasn't easy: they had to make sure the glue stayed outside the shell, while finding every piece of it required a lot of patience and time.

The snail was placed back in its home once the shell was put back together. It will take him weeks, perhaps months to heal, but it seems like he is happy and healthy in the care of the animal hospital's vets.

You can see more of the procedure in the photos below.

Luckily the vets at Tel Aviv's HaClinica didn't turn their nose on the snail. They worked to meticulously put its shattered shell back together again.

It took a lot of time and patience, and they had to make sure that glue would not bleed past the outer shell.

But after enough time, the shell was put back together and the snail was able to slowly move back into its home.

It looks like the snail is recovering quite nicely!

It may take a few weeks or months before the snail is fully healed, though once it is, the vets will be able to release it back into the wild.
