Singer-songwriter Nichole Nordeman was recently traveling through an airport when she overheard a young couple on the phone, video-chatting with their 'baby.'
Nichole, a mom herself, couldn't resist eavesdropping a bit on the adorable young couple.
Based on the context clues she overheard, she assumed they were new parents, leaving their little one at home with Grandma for the very first time.
Like all parents, she knows that the first overnight trip is a tricky moment in every parent's life.
It's one thing to leave the kids with your spouse and jet off for a girl's weekend, but it's another when you both leave home without your precious baby.
Nichole empathized with the new-parent angst, and explains that she was close to tears just listening to them.
Then she turned a head to sneak a peek, assuming she would see the parents video-chatting with a chubby-cheeked baby on the screen.
She was more than a little bit stunned to see who they were really talking to!

Sitting in airport restaurant listening to a young couple FaceTime with their baby and his grandparents.
It's so adorable and they are obviously having serious separation anxiety on their trip.
They are cooing and gushing and exclaiming “Well look at YOU, big boy! So big! So handsome! Are you being so good for Nana???”
Then 1 million questions for Nana about how the feeding and pooping are going, and a reminder about favorite blankies and toys.
They ask to say goodbye to baby one last time, and they nearly collapse with joy when he’s back on the screen.
"Mommy and Daddy love you! You are the best boy!! We're coming home so soon!"
I’m literally crying into my latte because it’s so precious and I turn around to try and get a sneak peek at the baby on their FaceTime video.
