1st Lt. Brandon Harker recently returned from a nine-month deployment Afghanistan to discover his yellow Labrador Retriever, Oakley, had been given away. He had entrusted a "friend" to look after the dog, but that man got rid of the dog without Harker's knowledge. Now, the soldier is putting out a plea and hoping to find his beloved friend, whom he has owned since 2011.
"I'd just like to get him back, safe and sound," he told CNN.
Harker also posted a plea on Craigslist's Seattle page, hoping someone from the area might have more information about the dog's whereabouts. Oakley is described as having darker yellow spots on his face and going down his sides and legs and is about 2 years, 4 months old.
