Nature is truly a beautiful thing from afar, but it's even more stunning up close. We can appreciate it every day by roaming through gardens and parks, but out in the wild, it's a totally different story: You can still find things that take your breath away!
In 2014, one man in Alaska found himself caught off guard by a beautiful creature just across the river.
Roger Bickleman caught the animal on camera as it peacefully grazed along the bank of the river. With a closer look, he discovered it was an all-white moose. He assumed it was an albino one, and grew excited at the thought of catching something incredibly rare on camera.
But after further inspection of the footage, experts determined this wasn't correct. It turned out the moose wasn't albino at all. Its coat had the odd color due to a gene mutation that is more common than many folks think!
Roger thought he had caught a rare sight, but white moose have been seen all across the United States and Canada.
Regardless, this was quite a beautiful and majestic sight to behold. Even if the sight was not as rare as he had expected, Roger is extremely lucky to have seen such an impressive animal in its natural habitat.
