This Dog Hated People, Until She Walked Into The Shelter And Changed EVERYTHING!

When Animal Alliance of New Jersey received a call to help a severely matted and injured dog found on the streets of Philadelphia, they were shocked to find the stray in horrible condition, unable to walk properly and badly malnourished. Against all odds, Izzy survived life on the streets and made it to Animal Alliance where her healing began.

Despite how much we love dogs, there is still a huge pet homelessness problem in the U.S. According to the Humane Society, there are about 70 million stray animals living in the U.S. and, of those, only about six-to-eight million cats and dogs are actually rescued and brought into a shelter. Thankfully, there are people doing everything they can to rescue and find displaced animals loving homes.

When Izzy arrived at the shelter, she was all skin and bones. Her matted coat had to be surgically shaved down to the skin, where doctors discovered the dog had a massive infection and open sores. From that day on, her healing began and she was on the road to recovery.

After months of tender, loving care, Izzy looked like a completely different dog. Her recovery is truly remarkable! Once she was in good health, the dog was put up for adoption, where she met five-year-old Chloe — and the rest, as they say, is history. Chloe's family adopted the dog and Izzy's tail hasn't stopped wagging since she was adopted into her new forever home. The bond between these two is undeniable — Izzy didn't trust anyone until little Chloe came along.

It's so beautiful that this family was able to finally give Izzy the love she truly deserves. Adoption is always the right answer!
