In this amazing instrumental cover of Michael Jackson’s "Smooth Criminal," the wondrous duo 2CELLOS wows with every stroke of their instruments.
2CELLOS is a Slovenian and Croatian classically trained cello duo that consists of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser. They rose to fame after this cover of “Smooth Criminal” became quite the hit on YouTube, receiving now over 19 million views.
Since 2011, they’ve been signed to Sony Masterworks, and have released three albums and perform mostly instrumental arrangements of classic rock and pop music.
There’s no hiding the fact that these two are effortlessly talented musicians. The tension builds from the very beginning of this video and lasts to the very end.
With this official video that they made for their cover, they include a fake rivalry between the two of them in order to make the story behind their rendition even that more powerful.
When they get to playing, however, I couldn’t help but gaze in amazement at how fast their fingers were going.
It’s clear that these two take their art seriously, and it’s beautiful to see their passion come to life with this extraordinary clip.
