Almost No One Can See The 6-Foot Python Hiding In This Car Engine. Can You Find It?

I've never been particularly scared of snakes (I'm way more of an arachnophobe), but finding one in an unexpected place isn't exactly my idea of a good time.

Even though they don't freak me out, coming across a snake on a sidewalk or hiking trail still startles me a bit.

Luckily, snakes aren't super common in most parts of the US. In Australia, though, it's a different story altogether.

Apparently, it's not all that unusual to find snakes in your home in the outback — after all, this man found a venomous snake next to his baby's crib!

The same people who captured this snake actually catch a lot of snakes: they're the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, and they work to rescue serpents and reptiles from places where they shouldn't be.

On April 26, 2017, they shared the photo below, which shows a six-foot-long python hiding in a car engine. The only problem? Most people who see the photo can't find the snake.

Here's the original photo that the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers posted.

Do you see the six-foot snake?

This picture shows the type of snake you're looking for, a huge carpet python.

Carpet pythons are light brown with darker brown patterns on their backs.

Now that you know what you're looking for, go back up to the original image and see if you spot the snake.

Can't find it? Neither can most people.

So let's break this down.

Even though this isn't technically an optical illusion, it might help to treat it like one.

Look one quadrant at a time to see if you can find the snake.

Need a hint? It's in quadrant one.

Here's a closeup of that quadrant.

Can you see the snake yet? Don't worry if you can't, most people are still totally lost at this stage.

The snake is actually in the upper righthand corner of this zoomed-in image.

There it is! Do you see the two shades of brown?

If you're still a little unsure about the snake's location, the photo below shows exactly where it is.

Can you see the snake here?

This is a zoomed-in look at his patterned skin, carefully hidden inside the engine.
