Being in a shelter is tough for any dog, but it's especially challenging for a dog with a disability to get adopted. Rosie the Pit Bull could have had a very difficult time getting adopted. She is 3 years old and deaf. Many assume her breed is aggressive without getting to know Rosie, so when Cindy Koch came along it was a perfect match!
Cindy is also deaf, so she wanted to be able to relate to the dog and have her understand how she feels. They duo communicate through signs and Cindy teaches Rosie to recognize certain hand signals for sit, stay, and other basic commands.
